Yoon Ina (21), who returned to the Korean Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) stage after 1 year and 8 months after being disciplined for incorrect ball play, bowed her head to all her teammates and golf fans.
In the first round of the KLPGA Tour Doosan Engineering & Construction We've Championship (total prize money of 1.2 billion won) held at Teddy Valley Golf & Resort (par 72) in Seogwipo, Jeju on the 4th, Yoon Na hit 3 birdies and 1 bogey and recorded 2 under par 70.
Yoon Ina tied for 19th place in the first round and aims to enter the top ranks in the remaining rounds.
Yoon Na, who participated in the DB Group Korea Women's Open Golf Championship in June 2022, violated golf rules by playing a wrong ball. She reported this late and was banned from competing for three years.
With her disciplinary action reduced, Yoon Ina made a dramatic return to the field after 1 year and 8 months.
“I want to sincerely apologize to everyone,” said Yoon Ina, who finished the first round. It's been a while since she played with the players. It was a day that made her realize how grateful she was to be able to play. “I was very nervous, but I was able to finish well thanks to the fans who supported me,” she said.
