Munetaka Murakami (????, 24, Yakult) became the youngest hitter in the history of major professional baseball around the world to hit 200 home runs.
Murakami hit a forkball from Hiroshima pitcher Takuya Yasaki (????, 30) with no runners on base and two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning of a Japanese professional baseball home game held at Matsuyama Central Park Baseball Stadium on the 15th and sent it over the right wall.
Murakami was 24 years and 103 days old on this day.
Previously, Kazuhiro Kiyohara (57) hit 200 home runs at the age of 24 years and 313 days, which was a Japanese professional baseball record.
